Ugg(ly) Love

Have you ever owned and worn a piece of clothing, pair of shoes or handbag for so long that it just became a part of you?  And although that item had seen better days you just couldn’t seem to let it go?  If you answered yes to both of those questions then you will sympathize with me. If you answered no, then you will think I’m crazy and wonder why you wasted 5 minutes of your life reading this post… lol Well I’ve owned my Uggs for just about years and I’m not afraid to say that I “loved” my Uggs.  They were my comfortable go to shoe/ boot what have you.  If I had to run out of the house for a quick errand, I slid them on. Rain, sleet, snow or sunshine, I would wear them it didn’t matter.  They were the perfect all-weather boot. I even wore them around the house as house shoes..lol Although I admit they weren’t the most attractive shoe of the bunch, in my opinion they were an ugly cute. Kind of like a Pug…lol While looking through my pics I noticed I had some nice memories with my Uggs. Especially during a period of time back in Portugal, I wore the heck out of them.  Well this year I finally said goodbye to my one pair of Ugg Australia Classic Tall Women’s boots in Chestnut Size 12.  (I thought it was only fitting to use their proper name in this farewell)…lol

My big toe started to wear a hole through the front. Although I was really still trying to hold on to them, my hubby said it was time to let them go.  But I just couldn’t bring myself to toss them in the trash, so I put them in the thrift store bag.  I knew they would probably throw them out,  I just couldn’t be the one to do it.  My Uggs had carried me through two pregnancies.  They didn’t fail me like my other shoes had when I became pregnant and my feet swelled up. They were the most comfortable, warmest best friends that two feet and ten toes could ever have. If you own a pair, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t because you are one of the many who think they are ugly, I thank you for reading this far…lol I’m contemplating if I should buy another pair. I’ve had my eye on some gray ones now.  I know with my “new aspiration for style” I can’t wear them as frequently I used to and use them as my crutch, but I miss that warm comfortable softness that made my feet feel like they were constantly being hugged. What do you think? Do I buy another pair or just take my walk down memory lane and bid adieu to Uggs forever, or at least the three years that we are here in Hawaii? :)

Thank you for reading!

  1. You may not need them as much in Hawaii. If you did buy another pair you can use them when you travel to cold places. Then again in Cali they wear Uggs year round. I do like the gray color Uggs.
