Lobster

When I was younger I used to be very creative. I loved doing artsy craftsy type things, I used to love to write, I used to love getting dressed and matching from head to toe. But somewhere between growing up and doing adult things like getting married and having kids I kind of lost it. Just as I said before with my style, I got stuck with my creativity. I don’t know if its was due to lack of time or being afraid of what others would think or me simply thinking that as a mom, wife or 40 something year old there are just some things you shouldn’t do anymore or certain things you shouldn’t wear. Just recently I even had someone tell me on IG that they “really love my style style but I shouldn’t be so matchy-matchy all of the time and then I would really be the bomb”, I wasn’t offended and I took it as constructive criticism and let them know that I would attempt to step out of my coordinating comfort zone but I wouldn’t make any promises. Here we are and I am about as matching as you could get and guess what I freakin’ LOVE it! This is me and I realize it isn’t for everyone and that’s okay. I started this blog to get out of my style rut and I was starting to feel like I was falling back into it and dressing for others instead of myself. But that stops now. I love bold colors, I love pretty prints and I love matching and coordinating my accessories. I want to be more creative with my photos and shoot at different locales and when the opportunity arises I will but in the meantime, I’m going to get my creative juices flowing again with added graphics. Just as I know lobster printed pants aren’t for everyone I have to realize and accept that I am not going to be for everyone and that is okay. Here’s to me being ME and doing what makes me happy and hopefully inspiring you to be YOU and wearing and doing what makes you happy!
