Happy Valentine’s Day Loves!! I thought today would be a great day to showcase this diy red wrap skirt I made using McCall’s M7606 view D.  It is such a easy pattern to sew and great because it has multiple skirt options and 2 bodysuit options.  I can’t wait to sew up the ruffled skirt option soon. But for today’s skirt I chose view D which is a wrap skirt that is higher in the front and lower in the back.  I used a red knit from my stash that I believe I purchased from Fabric Mart when I was living in Hawaii a couple of years ago.  This skirt was easy to sew up and I’m quite happy with how it turned out.  Today I dressed it up with a simple black off the shoulder top that I’ve had for about a year and these cute Sam Edelman barely there heels that I picked up a couple of months ago from Nordstrom Rack.  I look like I’m ready for a night out Salsa dancing, which would be a great Valentine’s Day date but keeping it real, it’s a school night and a work night so the hubby and I will more than likely order food in and watch the Justice League movie from the Apple TV.  I’m not mad at this at all.  I realize that as I get older I enjoy just being home and comfortable along as we are together because we didn’t always have that option when he was in the Army and sometimes away.  Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Style Blog - Valentine's Day Red DIY Wrap Skirt

Vivrant Thing by Q-Tip, “Special girl, real good girl.  Biggest thing in my itty bitty world. You’re such a vivrant thing,
Vivrant thing, a vivrant thing.”  Man how I used to love this song, probably as much as I love the color yellow, so when I spotted this jacket available in tall on the ASOS site I knew I immediately had to have it!  I had a yellow moto jacket that I found at Zara a little over a year ago but the sleeves were 3/4 and it wasn’t tall sized so I ended up eventually giving it to my sister.  So I was a happy camper when I laid my eyes on this one.  It was a bonus that it was only $60 as well. A win-win for me because I really do love this jacket and the bold and vibrant color, plus the price.  It was just too good to pass up. Now these yellow vans I’ve had my eye on for some time, but couldn’t justify getting them because I didn’t really have too much in my closet to pair them with.  But when I scooped up this jacket I knew immediately that I needed them in my closet.  I can pair them with this jacket all of the time for an instant outfit, just switching up the color of my denim to dark wash, black or white. Pairing them with a casual day dress or t-shirt dress and this jacket.  I’m warning you all now that you will see this jacket and these shoes a lot this spring and summer.  Really loving the idea of matching and pairing all of my moto jackets with sneakers. Perfect for my on the go lifestyle as a stay at home cool mom. Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Style Blog - Vivrant Thing

It’s February and spring has already arrived here in San Diego. It’s a a bit chilly in the morning and then by mid afternoon the temps are anywhere between the upper 60s to the low 80s. I’m still slowly purging my closet and organizing and came across this Denim pencil skirt from Long Tall Sally.  I think it’s a great transitional piece as we head into spring.  Also one thing about denim skirts the never seem to go out of style and are great for spring and summer.  These olive knit booties are still going strong and so comfortable.  I love to slip them on whenever I have the chance.  They go up to a size 13 but as I went to link them for the post I see the largest available now is up to a size 11 as the 12’s and 13’s have now sold out.  Unfortunately my top is sold out as well but I did manage to find some very similar ones linked above.Olive Knit Top + Olive Knit Ankle Booties
