Simple, cute and comfortable, these three words are right up my alley when it comes to getting dressed in the summertime.  When the temps start heating up and the bus have been driving me crazy from being out of school I need outfits that can be quickly thrown together but still have me looking put together and a maxi dress and denim jacket is the answer most of the time for me.  Especially since I’ve gotten my sewing mojo back and have been making these in various colors…lol  They are so easy to just throw on and go, love a look that doesn’t take much effort.  This one was super easy.  I’ve linked some grey maxi dresses above and I hope you all already have a denim jacket in your closet because it is a wardrobe staple, but just in case you don’t I’ve got you covered there as well.  Keep in mind this works with any color maxi dress as my accessories are all neutrals.  My maxi dress is straight down and as I’ve picked up some weight I prefer them to be fitted on my frame but not tight, so I throw on a wide belt to accentuate my waist and give me some shape. The denim jacket it the perfect layering piece, I decided to top it all off with my olive green statement earrings and pretty “P” initial necklace from Ainkas Jewels.  You know I love me some personalization and the P can represent pretty or my last name, depending on my mood..lol I switch intermittently between this letter P and the T, love these dainty initial necklaces.

Hello lovelies! Sorry for the intermittent posts the last week, my boys have been out of school for summer break for one week now, and I’ve had to do so re-adjustments and have now gotten my rhythm back.  I am happy to be back to our regular scheduled posting..lol  I’m also happy because I am wearing my happy color with this diy yellow maxi dress I made using Kwik Sew K4169 and the sunshine yellow ponte stretch knit fabric.  I’ve always been a huge fan of this shade of yellow and I am so excited to see that yellow is a big trend right now, so it’s fairly easy to find a piece you love in this color, but for us tall girls finding a maxi dress that is long enough, well not that easy, So I took matters into my own hand and created my own.  But don’t you fret I’ve linked some tall dresses that I’ve found available in yellow for those of you who don’t sew. I’ve paired my did yellow maxi dress with my denim jacket and again statement earrings.  I love how there are so many great earrings available right now.  They really do make a an outfit pop, although with this bright yellow hue, it does that on its own. I’ve finished the look off with the summer “it” bag, I really love this bag it also makes a statement on it’s own. Okay so I must admit that this V Neck Floral Print Dress from make Me Chic (for reference I ordered the XL), was a bit out of my comfort zone at first.  I mean the “girls” are showing a bit more than they are used too…lol I had to look at myself for a good 5 minutes and then another five minutes wondering if I should just go ahead and put a camisole on with the dress, but I said let me be daring for one night.  Which for me this is, as most of the time since having kids I have been covered up in mommy mode.  But this dress helped me to remember that I am a still a beautiful and vivacious woman and we all need a little reminder of that every once in a while.  You could say this V Neck Floral Print Dress,  ahas helped me to get my grown and sexy back, which needs to be unwrapped every once in a while.  But not too much unwrapped, so if the girls are out, then I like for the rest of me to be covered and the length and drape of this dress is perfect.  I also love the loose flutter sleeves and this pretty print with the yellow flowers.  I think this dress can get lots of wears.  To make it daytime appropriate I would simply add a camisole underneath and pair it with some flat sandals and back to mommy mode I go, with it being perfect for running errands and picking up the kids from school.

Hello Lovelies!  I hope this Tuesday is finding you all well.  Today I’m blushing from head to toe! So I’ve had these pretty blush booties named Joyce from Smash Shoes for several months now and I absolutely love them.  I was mad at my closet though because I really didn’t have a lot of things that I thought would pair really well with them.  Well as I told you all in my last post that I recently made a trip to Burlington Coat Factory and I found this super cute blush Adidas sweatshirt dress and I immediately thought about how cute it would look with these booties.  So I quickly picked it up in a size large and scanned the price tag.  You guys it was only $19.99 and these dresses normally retail for around $60 and up.  So into my cart it went. When I got home I tried it on with my booties but felt like it was missing something and remembered my blush suede hat I picked up a couple of months ago from H&M.  I put it on and I had a look I loved.  I think this would be a cute concert going look.  So I am definitely happy to add it to my lookbook for future reference.  Next I’m hoping to find a blush colored bomber type jacket to pair with these booties as well.  So if any of you come across a tall suede blush colored bomber jacket let me know.  Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Blushing Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Blushing
