Hello Lovelies! Today’s look features my diy black sequin pencil skirt.  I made this skirt around the same time that I made my fuchsia sequin pencil skirt last seen here.  They were both really fast and easy sews using Mc Call’s 9003 Easy Stitch’n Save.  Easy they were.  This is my first time wearing this skirt and I decided to feature it in a sequins for daytime look. Sneakers with dresses and skirts are really hot right now and I truly hope it doesn’t go away because I really love sneakers and recently have been growing my adidas collection.

Along with the sneakers I decided to pair my diy black sequin pencil skirt with this interesting sequin ant tee I found online at Forever 21 Plus.  I thought it was really cute but my husband who said “it was perfect for Halloween” and my four year old son who said, “Mom what’s that on your shirt?” I told him ant’s do you like it.  He replied I don’t know it’s scary….lol Like father ike son I tell you…lol  Looks like this tee will be stored until Halloween and I’ll reserve this skirt for a more dressier occasion. Although I must say that looking at my pictures I thought this was a cute and fun look!

I think sometimes it’s fun to play dress up and try new things that may be out of your comfort zone.  There will definitely be some misses, but there will also be some hits.  You’ll never know if something will work or not unless you try it.  I’ve also realized that you can’t always get an accurate read on whether a look works or not by simply looking in the mirror.  Sometimes photographing yourself gives you a better gauge on whether it works or not because you can study it.  Sometimes a look grows on you and ends up working.
