Okay ladies, Old Navy’s Tall shop is back in my good graces.  I told myself that I would give their “knee length” dresses one more try as the last couple I’ve tried have been coming up a tad too short on me.  Well when I spotted this gorgeous green off the shoulder shift dress I could not resist.  I decided to go up a size to the XL tall and what do you know, the length was perfect!!  Not sure if that would have been the case if I had ordered the large tall or not, but I’m so happy this one worked out.  Again for reference I am 6’4″ tall and wear a size 14.  This dress is an XL tall and hits me right above the knee.  It is a linen blend and irons very easy.  The material is not too thin and the quality is great for the price.  Also the green color is so vibrant and fresh, perfect for spring and summer.  I would highly recommend this dress ladies.

Now let me tell you about this bag! I was wandering through TJ Maxx with my mom and we were in the bag section and I came across this bag.  I couldn’t believe my eyes it was a dupe for the Chloe Drew bag and it was only $19.99.  But when I picked it up I noticed it didn’t have the strap.  So I left it,  I kept thinking about this bag the rest of the day and night.  The next morning I told my mom I needed to go back and get that bag and that I could just find a chain and make my own strap.  Well we eat back the next morning and the purse was still there.  I quickly picked it up and headed straight to the checkout.  I advised the cashier that the strap was missing and she took $4 off the price.  So I ended up getting this bag for $16!! I quickly headed to Hobby Lobby and purchased 2 yards of this gold chain and attached it my bag.  It matched perfectly.  Now I just need to find the right size gold toggles to add to them.   Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Old Navy Green Off The Shoulder Shift Dress

This bright blue poppy print split midi dress  from Tall Girls UK, makes me really wish that I was still living in Hawaii or on any island for that matter, with a tropical drink in hand.  Since I no longer live in paradise i think it may be time for an island escape or carribbevn cruise because this dress screams resort wear and I love it.  As you know if you’ve been following me for some time blue is my favorite color and I love the rich cobalt blue hue of this dress with the vivid red poppy’s sprinkled throughout.  One of the great things about being tall is that we can carry off big bold prints such as this.  If you have any plans to a tropical destine this summer, this dress is a must have.  Easy, breezy, effortless style in this number.Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Bright Blue Poppy Print Split Midi Dress - Tall Girls UK Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Bright Blue Poppy Print Split Midi Dress - Tall Girls UK

Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Spring Floral Maxi Dress with Bright Pink Cardigan

Hello friends I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend! Today’s post is about the spring floral maxi dress paired with a cardigan. This spring floral maxi dress I’m wearing today is old from Tall Girls UK but is still one of my all-time favorite maxi dresses.  I love the length as it sweeps the floor on my 6’4″ frame and I love the empire waist style as it narrows in at the smallest part of my frame and relaxes from the belly downward.  The cherry blossom print just screams spring has arrived!  Today I decided to pair it with a bright pink 3/4 sleeve cardigan and some simple bright pink flat sandals that I picked up on clearance from Ross Dress For Less. As they pick up the hints of bright pink in the print of my maxi dress. As you all know we are all about re-mixing and getting the most out of our clothing over here so I wanted to show that if you have a maxi dress that is a favorite throwing a cardigan on with it, is another way to change it up and depending on the color of the maxi dress or the colors in the print it gives you that many more ways of changing it up. Also think about denim jackets, blazers and moto jackets as well.Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion and DIY Blog - Spring Floral Maxi Dress with Bright Pink Cardigan

Pretty Tall Style - Personal Style Blog of a Tall Girl - DIY Chambray Tie Sleeve Off the Shoulder Midi Dress - McCall's 7543 Pattern Review

It has been ages since I’ve made anything and needed an easy and fast project to complete to hopefully help me to get my sewing mojo back.  This DIY chambray tie sleeve off the shoulder midi dress was just what the doctor ordered.   I am obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops and dresses and want them in every single color.  But I saw a chambray midi length dress by Tibi and instantly fell in love with the look of the dress, but definitely not the $495 price tag. You can take a look at the $495 Tibi version here.  Totally out of my budget.  So I looked through my fabric stash and found that I had some chambray fabric in the same color and McCall’s 7543 was a great pattern to use to create something similar.  I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.  You can read my pattern review below.Pretty Tall Style - Personal Style Blog of a Tall Girl - DIY Chambray Tie Sleeve Off the Shoulder Midi Dress - McCall's 7543 Pattern Review

:: Pattern Review – McCall’s 7543 ::

Pattern Description: Misses Off-the-Shoulder Tops, Tunic, Dress

Pattern Sizing: L-XL-XXL, I cut the large.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes with the extended dress length.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they were very easy to read and follow along

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like how simple and straight forward it was.

Fabric Used: Chambray purchased from my local Yardage Town store.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I omitted the pockets because I didn’t have enough fabric and also I extended the length of the dress to midi length.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes I will definitely be sewing this dress again. I would love to make a couple more with pockets and varying lengths. I would definitely recommend for others to try.

Conclusion: Love this pattern! A very quick and easy project.
