What I’m Wearing:

 Again with the bright colors for winter! I spotted this hot pink moto jacket on the Gap website months ago and had to have it.  I just loved the bright color and I’m already obsessed with the shape of moto jackets.  So when Gap was having one of its awesome sales, with a 40% off discount code, I swooped in.  The sleeves are a great length, and it doesn’t feel restrictive at all.  It’s a light weight wool blend and layers perfectly over a sweater as you can see here.  I’m wearing the medium tall.  As I checked to add the link to this post, it looked like the large was the only size left in tall and it is currently on sale.

How cute is this  fox sweater?  This was another purchase from months ago, unfortunately it is sold out now, but they have some other cute options available in tall sizes that I linked above.  You can’t see in the pictures here, but the sleeves on this sweater are really long, past my wrists, and I love the fit.  I’m wearing a large tall, As you see I’m wearing it tucked in because it isn’t bulky at all.  I plan on wearing it next with a gingham button down underneath and pairing it later perhaps with a pencil skirt. Part of my wardrobe maximizing, so stay tuned.

 I decided to wear my super comfortable Nine West leopard pumps, because like Jenna Lyons says, “leopard is a neutral.” T he print happens to be another one of my current obsessions.  My boyfriend jeans are real “boyfriend” jeans.  I’ve been having a hard time finding boyfriend jeans that I like that are long enough in women’s, so I went over to the mens section of Old Navy and found these that I love.

Hi guys, today is one of those days where I am super excited to share with you all.  It’s because of my diy skirt.  I was inspired to make this trumpet skirt from one that I saw online at ASOS a couple of months ago.  A few of my favorite bloggers had worn it, and I thought it was just so cute.  It was quickly sold out on ASOS.  So what’s a tall fashion blogger to do.  Take matters into her own hands and make one herself, and that is exactly what I did.  What makes it even better is that I already had the perfect pattern, lining, zipper and the fabric in my stash. So I was good to go.  Surprisingly this diy skirt was pretty easy to sew up.  I followed the pattern directions with one exception. I omitted the waist band.  I just wasn’t liking the way it was sitting when I tried it on.  It seemed unnecessary. I like the much cleaner line I have without it.    I decided to pair my uber feminine trumpet skirt with my black (faux) leather jacket and lace up sandals to give it  a touch of edge.  I think this is one of my favorite outfits so far.  I love each piece separately and they all bring something to this outfit without making it over the top.  This mommy’s style and sewing skills are slowly progressing and I have to say, I quite happy with that.

I say it all of time if you’ve been following my blog for some time you know I love color.  Give me bright, rich overly saturated color, I love it! But I think I may be slightly obsessed with neon right now, or maybe its the shoes.  They just seem to make everything better.  Yellow is already my happy color and throw in the neon and it’s like I’m electrifyingly giddy.  That has to be a good thing right?

P.S. these jeans are from the men’s tall section of old navy.  I was looking for some boyfriend jeans and thought what better place to get them from then the men’s section.  Only thing is these are a Men’s Skinny Jean and I didn’t think to go up a size for the loose baggy look, but I decided to keep them anyway because they actually fit great and I love the wash. I remember when I was in high school and I “had” to buy men’s jeans because they were the only ones long enough.  It a great feeling to be buying them under different circumstances, because we now how so many other tall women’s jean options out there.

P.S.S. The hand of one my little one’s in the fourth picture…lol. Enjoying my break, but missing my munchkins.
