What I’m Wearing:

Dress : 3.1 Philip Lim for Target

Shoes: Nine West via Nordstrom size 12, loving these similar ones here

Bag: 3.1 Philip Lim for Target (sold out), but this one here is cute as well

Earrings: Banana Republic Outlet

Ba-Da Boom! That is how I am feeling in today’s outfit.  I scored quite a few goodies from the 3.1 Philip Lim for Target collaboration when it originally launched back in September.  At first I was only interested in the accessories and very happy with the handbags and scarves I was able to get ahold of, along with my Boom sweatshirt last seen here.  I wanted this Boom sweater dress originally as well, but decided to pass on it.  But after a couple of days passed, I still kept thinking about it and decided to head back to Target to get it.  But of course it was sold out when I returned. Then I kept seeing it on a couple of bloggers that I follow and I was kind of sad I didn’t buy it when I had the chance.  But lo and behold a couple of weeks ago while my sister was visiting, she, my mother and I went to Target.  I headed to the clearance racks and as I was perusing the 50% off racks, I spotted my dress.  It was the only one left, just sitting there quietly like it had been waiting for me to come back.  I quickly picked it up, looked at the size which happened to be an x-large and looked at the price which was marked down to around $25 and said this will work and put it in my cart.  It was meant to be mine.  When I arrived home, I tried it on and I was elated.  The sleeves were long enough and the sweater dress portion covered my bottom with wiggle room to spare…lol  It is a tad bit roomier in the waist then I would prefer but all in all this tall girl is HAPPY!  This dress is cute, flirty, fun and oh so comfy.  What I also love about it, is that when I get tired of the flounce at the bottom, I can wear it as a tunic sweater with skinny jeans or leather leggings. I’m all about re-purposing and re-mixing as you will start to see more of on the blog.

Have you ever passed on something only to wish  you would have bought it days later?

What I’m Wearing:

Dress: Gap Factory Outlet

Trench Coat: Banana Republic (Tall), similar

Boots: Hunter via Barefoot Tess, size 12, also available here

Socks: Payless

I purchased this trench coat a few months ago online, from Banana Republic.  It was during one of their awesome sales, plus I had a discount code for 40% off and some rewards dollars to use up.  So I ended up scoring this coat for around $50. Trench coats are a classic that every woman should have in their closet.  They can be worn all year year long from the rainy season of Spring to the brisk days of Fall. But for us tall girls with lengthier limbs, it is sometimes hard to find one with long enough arms that doesn’t feel restricting in the shoulders and hits at the right spot on our longer frames.  I really love that this trench hits right at my knees.  As you see here I paired it with a short dress, but it also looks just as good worn with dressy trousers, jeans and skirts; which I will show you in future posts.

What I’m Wearing:

Bottom: c/o Tall Couture

Top: c/o Tall Couture, similar in Solid Navy

Shoes: Nine West via Amazon.com, up to size 12

Blazer: J. Crew, similar

Bag: 3.1 Philip Lim x Target

Wearing this camel blazer always makes me feel studious.  I always opt for my glasses instead instead of my contacts when wearing it.  I paired it with my new red Nine West Sossi Flats  and added this awesome snake print blouse from Tall Couture for visual interest.  These Fidelity Jeans also from Tall Couture are so comfortable and were an easy decision to add to the mix.  They are light weight and have enough stretch to make them fit like a glove.  To be honest they feel just as comfortable as my yoga pants, but way more polished of course.  I really like this combination. It meets my three C’s test: Comfortable, cute and chic.

P.S. I did it again, I bought these flats in multiple colors as well.  I love them!  Dyed calf-hair, comfortable and pointy toe as well, plus my size 12, how could I not?! ;)
