How cute is this mug?  When I first laid eyes on it online, I fell in love.  I mean what’s not to love, black and white stripes, plus a tutu! Are you kidding me.  It’s so freaking pretty! But I was disheartened because when I went to purchase it online from Starbucks I found it to be sold out.  All the professional ebayer’s had swooped in and were of course selling them online for double the price.  So I tried my luck and called a couple of my local Starbucks.  After calling three stores close by with no luck, I decided to drive to a couple of locations just to double check.  First store I went to no luck, they advised me they had sold out the first day it was put on the shelves.  My mom being the smart woman she is advised me to check the Starbucks on post (Army base).  I didn’t even think of going there because I figured they probably hadn’t even received a shipment.  Luckily for me I was completely wrong.  Sitting there right in the front was my mug.  I went to purchase it and the cashier who happened to be a guy said I have to look at this, this is cool I didn’t even know we had these.  That right there tells you how beautiful it is…lol I’m not much of a coffee drinker but I love tea and hot chocolate so that is what mine will be used for once I get over looking at.  It’s so cute I kind of don’t want to take it out of it’s packaging…lol

Okay but now to the good stuff.  As I was sitting at home staring at my mug I thought I should go back and get the other two and give them away on the blog because they are really PRETTY and we are currently in the season of giving and being thankful.  I truly am thankful for all of you who stick by me through my long gaps between posting.  Check in on me via emails and keep my Facebook lively with your ‘likes’ and comments.  So today I am going to give away one of the two extra mugs that I picked up.

What I’m Wearing:

Pants: DIY using this pattern, love these

Jacket: Gap (Tall)

Top: INC via Macy’s old (re-purposed from a dress), similar

Shoes: Avenue size 12, similar

Bag: 3.1 Philip Lim for Target

If you’ve been following for a while now, then you will know that blue is my favorite color.  Although I wear it all year long, I am loving that there are so many options in this wonderful hue right now.  Unfortunately finding reasonably priced cobalt blue pants in my 36″ inseam has not been so easy to find.  So I was happy to find this brightly hued fabric to be able to make myself a pair.  What I love about these pants besides the length, color and fact that I made them myself, is also that they can be dressed up, as I am wearing them now or dressed down as I wore them here.  Additionally, the bold blue hue can be paired with so many other different colors, which I will be showing  you on the blog as I re-mix these pants a few more times to maximize my wardrobe.

Thank you for reading!

Bottom: Faconnable via T.J. Maxx | Top : Forever 21 | Belt : Jean Warehouse | Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Ross | Bag : Kate Spade

These pants were a great find, I bought them on clearance for less than $20 and they are super long.  I have them cuffed under and there is about two more inches of length.  I love the subtle black pinstripe running down them that you can’t see until you come in close.   The one fault I had with these pants when i purchased them was the leg width. They were in between a straight leg and bootcut.  So I took to my sewing machine and just slimmed them a tad bit from just above the knee down.  The final result was a modern and more chic pair of trousers. I decided to try my hand at print mixing by pairing them with my black and white polka dot blouse from forever 21.   My shoes were a real steal I found them at my favorite Ross for only $22. I love the bold black and white and the height of the wedge.  Plus these shoes are uber comfortable.

My mom asked me why I was wearing polka dots with stripes and I proudly proclaimed, “I’m print mixing!”  She just shook her head…lol  I think it looks quite nice because my stripes are subtle.  So what do you all think of my first attempt at “print mixing”?   Would you dare wear polka dots and stripes together?  I’d love to hear your thoughts. :)

Thank you so much for reading!
