I apologize for the lapse in posting the last few weeks.  First my boys were sick and then I was sick with a cold/flu and then once we were all feeling better I caught a case of the blues.  I just didn’t feel like doing anything.  I didn’t feel like sewing or even dressing up in ready to wear clothes to take blog pics.  Then the other day I told myself I needed to snap out of it.  I looked through my sewing stash and found this beautiful yellow stretch crepe fabric.  I looked through my patterns knowing that I wanted to make a dress and that it needed to be fast and easy so that I could try and get my sewing mojo back. I decided on New Look 6145 as it stated easy right on the front of the pattern and I had not sewn it before.  I sewed up view D and extended it to a maxi dress length.  I really love how this diy yellow mod maxi dress turned out.  It was quite easy, although I thought i would be intimidated by the collar and the chest darts, but the instructions were very clear and it came together quite nicely.  What I love about this dress is that it is not form fitting but still has some shape.  Right now my midsection is my problem area and this camouflages it nicely without the need for shape wear.  For my non-sewists I have found and linked some fab looking yellow dresses that I love above.
