Hello Lovelies! Today I wanted to share with you my recent August purchases. I figured I would show them to you all now, because some are close to being sold out and only left in limited sizes. I will be showcasing them in the 12 ways series soon and styling them on the blog later on and they may be completely sold out by then. In total for August I have made six purchases, take a look below, to see the tall girl friendly and very affordable pieces pieces I added to my closet this month.
Old Navy Wool-Blend Peacoat for Women (available in tall, petite and regular sizes)
I have been looking for a blush pink coat in tall sizes for the past couple of years. I had found one a couple of years ago from ASOS Tall but unfortunately it didn’t work out for me because when I received it, the sleeves ended up being too short for me. So begrudgingly I returned it and have been looking for something similar ever since. Well a few days ago my luck changed when I spotted this pink pretty on Old Navy’s website and it was a day where they were offering a 40% off promotion code, so I quickly jumped on this. I received the jacket a couple of days ago and the fit and sleeves are perfect for me. I ordered the size large tall and I absolutely love the fit, color and weight of this jacket. I already have so many ideas for styling it this fall and winter.
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Metallic Low Top (available up to size men’s 12, which is a women’s size 14)
Next up are these Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Metallic Low Tops. I ordered both the ‘Gunmetal’ which is a silver color and the ‘Gold’. I love converse and wear them regularly, so adding these shiny gems to my collection was a no brainer for me. Converse are so versatile and can be worn year round, and by having them in a neutral metallic color, it just truly opens up a world of possibilities for me, especially since I love wearing my chuck’s with skirts and dresses as well. They can be found at various department stores and shoe stores but I’ve linked where I found the cheapest and they were offered in larger sizes, I ordered the men’s 10.5 which is a women’s size 12.5. If you have a Nike+ (which) I do, you also get free shipping with no minimum purchase, so it was a win-win situation.
Another one of my recent tall purchases for fall is this quilted vest from Old Navy in ‘salamander’ which is a olive green color. I purchase one quilted vest each year and the I laid eyes on this olive green color I knew it would be a welcome addition to closet in helping me to maximize it. This color is percent for fall and pairs so well with other neutrals as well as brights such as red and cobalt blue and pastels such as blush. I have an abundance of these colors in my closet already and by simply layering them with this quilted vest they will transition smoothly into fall.
This BP color block folder clutch is one of my favorite recent purchases! It reminds me so much of a Clare V. clutch without the price tag. I love pairing camel, black and white together, which you may have noticed in my 12 Ways to Wear a Camel Blazer post here. This clutch combines all three with the perfection of stripes. I also love that this combination transcends seasons. So that means that I will definitely get my money’s worth and more with this addition.
Last but definitely not least in this August recent purchase round up is this glorious black and white check print scarf. I plan on pairing this baby with many of my solid colored coats, jackets and blazers. Thinking it will work very well paired my cobalt blue blazer, red moto jacket, burgundy coat and also with a couple of my black and white striped tee’s and tunics.
With all these recent purchases I asked myself if they would mesh into my wardrobe seamlessly and I had to be able to create at least ten different looks off the top of my head with items I already owned in my closet. I was able to do this with each and every one of these pieces. Now were they ‘needed’ not necessarily *cough *cough but I justify them by the amount off use I will get from them and the amazing deal as all of the Old Navy purchases were 40% off Old Navy’s already great prices. So factoring in the already low prices of the items, plus the discount codes and free shipping for all of the items here, I spent less than $200 for these August purchases. Each of these pieces on their own will add that pop or finishing touch to a casual and basic look, which I’m proudly all about right now.
Thank you for stopping by!
