Pink and florals just seem so perfect for spring, throw on a denim jacket and you have the trifecta. This diy pink floral skirt was an easy make.  It only took about 1 yard and a 1/2 of fabric and I made it in about an hour.

Longline Vest and DIY Black Midi Dress

Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion, DIY and Lifestyle Blog - Longline Vest and Black DIY Midi Dress

Hello lovelies! Today I am totally covered in a longline vest I picked up several months ago from H&M. I had been looking for one of these types of vest for quite some time and then I received an email notification of a discount code for H&M I went to look and see what they had and came across this vest.  I see them all the time on sites like Forever 21 but never the right length on me or size for me.  So I was happy when I came across this one that fit well and the length was just right.

Hello Lovelies! Today I’m showcasing a diy printed maxi dress.  I’ve had this jersey knit fabric in my stash for quite some time and thought it would be perfect for a summer maxi dress.  I used a modified version of Butterick 5454 view B for the bodice.  I initially planned to have 3/4 sleeves,  but then decided against them because the print of my dress is so busy I felt a bit more skin showing would help to balance it all. I also ended up making my bodice into a wrap around top with the tie belt.  For my skirt I decided to just use a self drafted straight skirt as opposed to a wrap skirt.  I am really pleased with how my dress turned out. I love the unique print of the fabric and the bold colors.  What I really love is the perfect length, for me I love my maxi dresses to just graze the floor.  For us really tall girls it is sometimes hard to find.  But I’m noticing that there are now more tall retailers popping up and giving us a greater selection of maxi dresses that are actually long enough for our tall frames.  So if you don’t sew, you may want to check out retailers such as: Alloy Apparel, The Height, Height Goddess,  and Long Tall Sally, just to name a few.
