If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you definitely know that I am not one to shy away from color. I love wearing color, it makes me happy and I’m always looking for new ways to wear different items that I already have in my closet. So what better way than try pairing different color combinations. I really enjoy when InStyle Magazine has its color issue and I love their Color Crash Course. I thought it would be a fun to start trying different combinations and color pairings that I might not have dared and sharing them here on the blog to hopefully give you all inspiration to experiment and find new ways to wear clothing that you already own by pairing them with a color you might not have thought of your self before. So my first pairing is the combination of purple and persimmon. Now this color pairing is not for the faint of heart. It is bold, bright and fun, and I love it. The purple dress I made myself with a double knit fabric from Fabric Mart and Simplicity 1185. This is a very easy and fast pattern to sew. I definitely plan on using it again to make a few more dresses in different colors and maxi versions as well. My persimmon (which is a a shade of red-orange) blazer is an old J. Crew favorite of mine. Since both of my major pieces, the blazer and dress, are vivid hues, I decided to balance them out with black shoes and bag. So tell me what do you think of this bold color pairing?
