The Gingham Shirt

I love the versatility of gingham shirts! They can be dressed up or dressed down. They can be worn by themselves, layered under a sweater or layered over a t-shirt. They are perfect for all seasons and therefore can be worn year long. My love for the gingham shirt has no end as I buy them in every color as they become available. This season here are a few favorites that are affordable and most are available in tall sizes which is a definite plus. For the record the black and white gingham shirt I am wearing above is regular sized, purchased last year from Old Navy.

Long Tall Sally Collarless Check Coat

Hello Lovelies! So let’s talk about how fab this Long Tall Sally Collarless Check Coat is! It is so girly and lady-like at the same time. Even with the hot pink it still screams elegant and sophisticated. I adore this coat. I personally love the construction, the structure, the placement of the pockets and the checked print. It is fully lined and consists of a polyester/acrylic/wool blend. I’ve been wanting a plaid overcoat in my closet since last Fall but unfortunately the ones I admired were not tall sized and the sleeves were too short. Thank goodness for Long Tall Sally and this coat and its long sleeves and gorgeous color. I also love that it hits just above my knees. A great length for dressing up or down. For reference I am wearing a size 12. Another great thing about this coat is that it is reasonably priced, which is right up my alley because you know we all want cute and affordable fashion that fits. On a personal note I also love how this coat fits seamlessly in my closet. I have so many things already in my wardrobe that I can pair this collarless check coat with, in various shades of grey, pops of hot pink, white and even have a few ideas for pairing it with black, green and cobalt blue as well. Today I’m wearing it in a dressy/professional manner but I can easily see it worn casually with jeans as well. Also will be pairing it with a fitted shift dress and trousers ala Olivia Pope style as well. Stay tuned for those looks soon on the blog.What I’m Wearing:
