oliveberryWhat I’m Wearing:

Dress : Ross

Shoes : Nine West (size 12)

Bag : 3.1 Philip Lim for Target

Today I am wearing three of my favorite things and I’m feeling kind of fab.  First let’s talk about this dress.  This was another Ross Dress For Less deal.  This dress was only $19.99 and I love it!  It feels like silk on my skin and fits perfectly.  The length is so classy and lady like, but still  grown up sexy.  Details like the slits on the side and the curved hem were the deal sealers for me.  Although I must admit, it had me at the price, you know I love a good deal…lol.  Second, these leopard print pumps, oh how I adore thee.  Always a classic. Third, is this bag.  The color! Enough said.  It adds that instant pop of color. (Yes, as you can see from several of the last posts I picked up quite a few pieces from the 3.1 Philip Lim for Target collaboration. 5 handbags in total, 2 scarves and the Boom sweatshirt…lol) Normally with these collaborations I go a couple of days after the hype has died down to see what everything looks like and then sometimes I wait for items to go on clearance, but I knew waiting was not the answer for the handbags in this collection, so I’m not ashamed to admit that I stood in line in front of my local Target with about 20 other ladies for about 20 minutes before it opened at 8am, to get my goodies.  It was definitely worth it.  Did any of you pick anything up from this collection?

Bottom : Old Navy | Top : Old Navy | Shoes : Payless | Bag : Kate Spade | Necklace : Forever 21

I’ve been experimenting with different color combinations inspired by  looks I’ve seen and pinned on Pinterest.  This mint and purple pairing was one that I came across and realized that I had all of the pieces in my closet, so I decided to try it. This is a color pairing that I would have never thought of my self, but I really like it.  So what do you think, is this a color combination that you would be willing to try?

Hello everyone I hope you all had a great weekend.  I’m actually trying to get over a bad cold/flu that has has attacked my whole family since Wednesday. Have you ever spotted something that had a totally different purpose than what you had in mind for it?  Well this is what happened to me.  I was perusing the fabric department of my local island Wal-Mart and I came across this lovely bluish-purple, textured printed, awesomeness.   I had been wanting to make some “J. Crew inspired  cafe capris” and this fabric just seemed to hit the right note.  The fabric was sturdy and perfect for the structure I wanted for a matching jacket as well. I was surprised to see that it was less than $3.00 a yard and then I realized it was actually upholstery fabric, that could be used for re-upholstering an arm chair or making drapes.  So I am  literally wearing the drapes and it only cost me $12. ;)

On another note, I am still transitioning from my relaxer.  Its been six months now and I was very close to relaxing my hair this past weekend.  Managing the two textures is becoming quite frustrating and I really was at my breaking point.  I was ready to cut it all off or relax it.  The hubby doesn’t want me to cut it all at once. So I went to my local beauty supply store with the intentions of purchasing a relaxer and instead I bought hair..lol It’s an invisible part wig that I pushed back a little and put a head band on. I guess whatever helps me get to my end goal.  So for a while I’ll be trying different hairstyles as I try to make it to the end of the year, before my big chop. So for this week at least, I am team ‘big hair, don’t care’ and I kind of like it. :)

Dress: Suzy Chin (Nordstrom Rack) | Shoes : Nine West (Piperlime) | Bag : Coach | Earrings : Jean Warehouse

Yellow is my happy color and I love wearing it, especially in Spring and Summer.  I found this dress on clearance at Nordstrom Rack and was instantly smitten.  First off it was in my happy color and secondly it was the perfect length on me hitting just above the knee.  I love the loose casual, but not boxy shape of it.  I decided to pair it with fuchsia and  purple to experiment with color blocking and I have to say I like the combination, it didn’t feel like I was trying too hard.
