Hello Lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today’s outfit of the day features this Shein(Sheinside) Off the Shoulder Ruffle Dress or on me tunic top. As you can see my love affair or dare I say obsession with off the shoulder tops is indeed in full swing and I don’t see it letting up anytime soon. So when I was contacted by Shein to pick another item to review for you all I picked this super cute Gingham Off the Shoulder Ruffle Dress.

Now I knew immediately that this mini dress would not be so on my 6’4″ frame, but immediately thought it would make a great tunic/top for me.

When shopping for clothes off the rack or online that weren’t specifically made for my tall frame I look at the measurements, sometimes a dress that is meant to be a maxi will look just as cute or better as a midi, princess sleeves can easily become 3/4 sleeves and a mini dress can be a cute tunic! I love that there are more tall clothing options becoming available for us but I also love the fact that I am not limited to them and able to make items from more affordable and mainstream retailers work as well.

You can’t really tell from the pictures but this is a black and white gingham check print. It is made of cotton fabric with no stretch. It is lightweight but not see through and perfect for hot summer days. I have to say for the price which is around $23, the quality is good. I really love this top and not just just saying it, because it was gifted. It is black and white, gingham, off the shoulder and has a large ruffle and let’s not forget made of cotton, what’s not to love!

What I’m Wearing:
Top: Shein (Sheinside), c/o
Jeans: Old Navy (tall)
Shoes: 14th & Union via Nordstrom Rack, similar, similar (splurge)
Thank you for stopping by!
Hugs,

Hi Tanasha,
What a beautiful outfit! I love how you made the dress into a tunic and combined it with white pants and sandals. Perfect for warm summer nights. I have a few of those “dresses” that I didn’t try on in the store and realized at home that they look like shirts on me. I will follow your advice and will turn them into actual tops combining them with pants or leggings. Us tall women gotta be creative sometimes when it comes to fashion 🙂
Love your blog!
All the best,
Caroline
