I love a great midi dress and blazer combination.  It is an easy way to get dressed without a lot of effort and time and instantly look like you have your stuff together.  I found this dress in standard sizing on clearance at H&M for only $14.  I was immediately drawn to the bold colors and print.  The fabric is lightweight and feels like like silk and it is lined.  I knew the dress would work for my tall frame because of the midi length, even though it is standard sizing.  When you’re a tall girl and you are shopping at a standard size store, when looking at dresses on line, take a look at where it hits the model. If they are 5’10” tall and you are taller you can make it work if it hits them at the knee or lower. Anything shorter and it ends up looking like a mini dress.  If you are in the actual store, you have the luxury of trying it on or holding it up to you, to see where it will hit.  Remember, to keep in mind the height of the heel on the shoes you will be pairing with it as well. The shorter the dress pairs better wit a flat or lower heel and the longer the dress goes better with a higher heel. Just make sure it is a heel height you are comfortable with wearing. As you can see in the pictures this dress hits me just at the knee, not too short and not stopping an an awkward length and I was able to pair it with a higher heel.  You would not be able to tell that this dress was not tall sized on my 6’4″ frame.Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion - Style Tips - DIY Blog - Tall Girls Guide to Standard Size Dresses

Because of the bold pattern and bright colors of the dress and blazer, It is best to opt for a neutral shoe. These brown tie up sandals I scored from Eloquii blend with my skin perfectly and are my go to for such a look during the warmer weather.  I would advise if you don’t already own a great neutral sandal that matches your own skin tone, to start looking for a pair now.  You will find that they make getting dressed so much easier as you will see as I put together a multitude of looks coming up on the blog with these same shoes, this spring and summer.Pretty Tall Style - Tall Women's Fashion - Style Tips - DIY Blog - Tall Girls Guide to Standard Size Dresses
