So I found a pattern that I am absolutely in love with.  I’ve made a top and three pair of pants from it already and plan on making a whole lot more.  They are both so easy to make and very fast to sew. Talk about comfortable to the tenth power as well.  These are the equivalent to throwing on a pair of sweats or yoga pants with a way more polished look.  Especially when you throw on a pair of heels and a blazer.  But these pants can easily be cuffed or rolled up and worn with a tee or sweatshirt and flats for a more casual as seen in a previous outfit post here.  I am loving sewing right now especially when I find the perfect fabric and pattern for my beginner skills.  I’m telling you my tall friends if you haven’t already bought yourself a machine, you need to get one, it will become your best friend. :)

Dress : Ross

Shoes : Nine West (size 12)

Bag : 3.1 Philip Lim for Target

Today I am wearing three of my favorite things and I’m feeling kind of fab.  First let’s talk about this dress.  This was another Ross Dress For Less deal.  This dress was only $19.99 and I love it!  It feels like silk on my skin and fits perfectly.  The length is so classy and lady like, but still  grown up sexy.  Details like the slits on the side and the curved hem were the deal sealers for me.  Although I must admit, it had me at the price, you know I love a good deal…lol.  Second, these leopard print pumps, oh how I adore thee.  Always a classic. Third, is this bag.  The color! Enough said.  It adds that instant pop of color. (Yes, as you can see from several of the last posts I picked up quite a few pieces from the 3.1 Philip Lim for Target collaboration. 5 handbags in total, 2 scarves and the Boom sweatshirt…lol) Normally with these collaborations I go a couple of days after the hype has died down to see what everything looks like and then sometimes I wait for items to go on clearance, but I knew waiting was not the answer for the handbags in this collection, so I’m not ashamed to admit that I stood in line in front of my local Target with about 20 other ladies for about 20 minutes before it opened at 8am, to get my goodies.  It was definitely worth it.  Did any of you pick anything up from this collection?

What I’m Wearing:

Maxi Skirt: AlloyApparel.com (old), similar available in extended length

Top: Nine West via Ross

Cardigan: c/o TallCouture.com (currently on clearance for $39.99, limited sizes left)

Shoes: Steve Madden (although you can’t see them, they are black leather ballet flats)

Clutch: DIY

Do you have some pieces in your wardrobe that you only wear during a certain time of year but wish you could wear year long?  Well maxi skirts are one of those items for me.  I used  to think of only wearing them during the summer months. Now with my addiction to Pinterest, I have found numerous ways to incorporate them into the fall/winter as well.  Speaking of “numerous ways”,  I have also found a number of ways to wear this cute 382 long sleeve cardigan in charcoal, from Tall Couture as well.  (I can’t wait to show you in upcoming posts). It is extremely comfortable and versatile, definitely a piece that is perfect for all seasons.

My New Lauryn Elz Shoes

What I’m Wearing:

Bottom: Alloy.com (old) 37″ inseam, similar

Top: Mossimo, Target (old)

Clutch: Jeans Warehouse ($7 on clearance)

Shoes: LaurynElz.com, size 13

If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter you might recall me introducing you all to the Lauryn Elz brand and these fabulous ‘GiGi’ shoes.  Well I was blessed to have received a pair courtesy of Lauryn Elz.  I have to tell you I was super duper excited.  When I was introduced to the brand and made aware that they carry women’s shoes up to a size 13, I immediately had to check them out. These shoes from the GiGi Collection immediately stood out. I love that they look just amazing on, as they do on the site.  They are super comfortable even with a 4.5″ heel and I love the fact that they can be worn pretty much year round, except I wouldn’t wear them when it’s raining of course.  The suede material and rust orange color make them appropriate for fall and the woven espadrille platform and same great rust orange color make them just as appropriate for summer as well.  I decided to pair them with my leather (faux) pants from alloy to keep them fall appropriate. Added a simple ivory blouse and a colorful eye catching clutch and  I have a simple yet chic and go anywhere appropriate look.

If you’re on the lookout for larger size women’s shoes or tall women’s clothing retailers, make sure to check my tall women’s resource pages.  The tab is at the top.  I’m always updating the lists, as I find more retailers made just for ‘us’.

Okay, okay I know what some of you may be thinking.  Yes I am looking quite colorful and bright today. I broke out the primary colors and I’m like “Boom” in your face…hehe. And I have to admit, that I kind of like it.  As you all know, I do not shy away from color, and have no problem wearing it head to toe.  Sometimes on a gloomy day, you need a little pick me up, and this outfit did it for me.  I mean how can one be depressed and down wearing a comic “Boom” sweatshirt and the boldest colors in the Crayola box. ;)

P.S. You can read my pattern review of the pants here.

I love color as you all know and today I am Team Coral.  I was perusing the clearance sale going on online at Alloy and came across the baseball tee’s, I ended up buying several in different colors, but knew immediately I wanted this coral one because it would match perfectly with my Barefoot Tess Charlotte heels.  When it arrived it was a perfect match. Casual, chic and cute in coral. Also I moved my purses out of my closet and into a huge bookcase in my room and I looked over and spotted my coral Nine West cross body bag that was the perfect shade of coral as well. I threw on my boyfriend jeans and casually cute in coral was created. Matchy-matchy I know, but I love it!.

What I’m Wearing:

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.  In today’s outfit post I am wearing the 382 Long Sleeve Blouse in Delilah I received courtesy of Tall Couture.  I must tell you it was love at first sight.  If you’ve been following me for a while then you know that blue is my favorite color.  So when I laid my eyes on all of the beautiful shades of blue in this blouse along with the peacock feather print, I was smitten.  It’s simply pretty! Next let’s talk about fit.  Do you see how long the sleeves are?!!  Remember people, I am a very tall girl and I have long arms, the sleeves on this blouse are more than adequate.  They are absolutely perfect.  I love when I can bend my arms and not feel confined or restricted in any manner and this blouse just moves with me.  Now as we move on to the feel and texture of this blouse.  It feels amazing on.  It’s semi sheer, light and breezy.  This type of blouse is also very versatile.  As I have it styled here with jeans, it can be worn for a casual chic look, for running errands and picking up the kids from school.  I can see it paired with navy trousers for a work appropriate look or even a pencil skirt for happy hour with the girls.

P.S. Did I mention this blouse is on clearance right now and can be found here, limited sizes available.

Candy Color Stripes

What I’m Wearing:

Dress : Ross | Shoes : Vince Camuto via Nordstrom | Bag : Coach

Hello Lovelies! I was standing in line at Ross ready to check out when I noticed the candy color stripes. I immediately stepped out of line and proceeded quickly towards it.  When I picked it up I discovered it was a pretty dress.   It seemed long so I held it up to my shoulders and realized that it was a maxi dress that would most definitely hit me above my ankles.  But I couldn’t resist.  I loved the candy color of  the stripes.  Then when I looked at the price tag, it was a definite no brainer for me to add it to my cart.  It was on clearance for $7.00.  When I arrived home I tried the dress on and actually loved the shorter midi length on me.  It seemed right for this type of dress and paired perfectly with my nude Vince Camuto heels I have been dying to wear for the longest.

What I’m Wearing:

Bottoms: Banana Republic Factory Store (Tall size and DIY alteration) | Top: Old Navy | Shoes: Barefoot Tess

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I’ve had this neon yellow shirt for months and have never worn it because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to wear it with besides jeans.  Then I remembered I had a pair of gray pants that would go well.  When I pulled out my pants they seemed a bit dated with the bootcut.  So I went over  to my sewing machine and turned them into skinnies.  It was pretty easy.  First I turned these gray pants inside out. Then  I took a pair of skinny pants I already owned and laid them on top.  I then took my tailors chalk and traced up until slightly above the knee where the outer and inner seams met on both pair.  I then pinned where my outline was and tried the pants on.  I liked the fit and didn’t need to make any adjustments.  I stitched them up with me machine and then trimmed off the excess.  Lo and behold I had a pair of brand new pair of gray skinny pants.

 What I’m Wearing:

Bottom: Old Navy, Similar here | Top: Old Navy | Shoes : c/o Shoesissima | Belt: Kate Spade via T.J. Maxx | Bag: Louis Vuitton

Nothing is more classic in the summer to me than a pair of crisp white jeans and a button down.  Throw in a perfect  pair of penny loafers in a creamy peanut butter shade, and why not invite Kate Spade and Louis V. to the party while you’re at it and bingo, you have what I’d like to call ‘classic prep’.  The only thing missing is my monogram on my button down. I think I need to put a sewing machine that does monogramming on my birthday wish list.  Hint..hint hubby. ;)

Also I wanted to let you all know that  I was introduced to Shoessima.com a few months ago.  There tagline states ‘beautiful shoes for larger feet’! They carry women’s U.S. shoe sizes 10-14, U.K. 8-12. The Penny Loafers I am wearing are beautifully made and fit perfectly.  They have a sale going on right now on their summer sandals; and have some really cute shoes coming soon for the fall/winter.
